With the Further Adventures in Finance and Felony update, Grand Theft Auto (GTA) Online now features a new CEO mission known as Special Cargo. Getting Special Cargo in GTA Online isn’t such a difficult task to accomplish only if you know how to go about it, and that’s what we intend to achieve in this post: show you how to get Special Cargo in GTA Online.

Before we dive into that, however, it’s necessary to know what the Special Cargo mission is so that you know exactly what you’re dealing with.

Special Cargo Missions in GTA Online

Special Cargo missions can be said to be dangerous, sometimes requiring an organised team of associates to successfully complete. This is because they involve players stealing initially purchased cargo and thereafter stocking them up in their warehouse. However, because there is no minimum limit on the number of players, one player can participate solo in the mission.

Special cargo missions are a type of Buy Missions which a player has to complete if he wants to get access to special cargo crates in their warehouse. Special cargo missions take place state-wide and can only take place in Public Free Mode Sessions.

So, how do you get these Special Cargo in GTA Online?

Buying Special Cargo

As mentioned earlier, to get Special Cargo crates, you have to complete some Buy missions. Irrespective of the level (that is, the number of crates) mission you launch, Buy missions have a cooldown common to all of them. If you want to bypass the cooldown timer in a Buy mission, what you can do is to make sure that you have more than one warehouse.

To get Special Cargo, what you need to do is to launch a mission to buy special cargo and you can do this from the comfort of your office at the SecuroServ Terminal. Now, this seems easy, yeah? Of course, it is easy to launch the mission to buy special cargo, picking up the special cargo is where the danger and the bulk of the work is.

Note that it is more cost-effective to buy 1 crate at a time compared to buying 3 crates at a time. However, buying 3 crates at a time is more time-effective compared to buying 1 at a time. So, you might want to weigh your options and choose which works best for you.

Remember that Special Cargo missions to retrieve purchased crates can only be conducted in a public online session and because at different points in the mission, it will be broadcast with a map icon to the server, you might have to contend with other players who would be trying to also grab your crates or destroy them.

You should know that when picking up Special Cargo crates after you must have launched the buy mission, you can not pick up more than one crate at a time if you’re playing solo. One player can only pick one Special Cargo crate, go to store it in the warehouse and come back to grab another until he picks all.

However, because you know that other players might be watching you, lying in wait to steal your crates, what you can do is to hire as many associates as it would cost you to collect all of the Special Cargo crates in one fell swoop.

So, after you’ve successfully retrieved all your Special Cargo crates, you’ll have to store them in your warehouse and you can decide to resell them.  You can be sure to make a huge profit because they cost a lot to buy, selling one crate for as much as $150,000.
